dependable transportation

Can't exactly how I got to this page, but I am here and I try to utilize what comes my way. I have a deformed (disabled) foot. Tis getting worse. Some days I can barely walk. I finally found my dream career, driving public transportation. Who knew? Been there almost 8 years, (had ssi so didn't really need to work, but it is good for my mind , body and soul. Made alot of friends along the way. My car failed me, it was hard to get to and from work without my own car. I need my own transportation to survive. I don't have great credit, but I am faithful to my debts. Just want dependable transportation so I can continue to be employed part time out of the home...

The Lord Knows That I'm Trying

I am currently unemployed, and I have been searching for work since November 2009. I was receiving unemployment benefits, but at the end of May 2010 my benefits ended. In order for me to receive an extension of benefits from unemployment I had to file an appeal, and wait to be scheduled for a hearing, which normally takes 8-10 weeks. During this waiting period I have not received any funding at all. While I have been waiting for a hearing date I have now fell into financial hardships of the worst kind. I have tried to apply for government aid, but to no avail. I am behind on all of my bills by 2 months! I soon may become homeless due to the situation that I have described above. If there is any help that you, or anyone else that you may know, can provide regarding any openings for a 1 bedroom with a low income based housing within the east bay, or any openings for jobs please feel free to contact me. Thank you in advance for whatever help, or information that you can provide.

Sincerely,

Lord Knows I'm Trying

I am a black female, 53 years of age.  On May 3, 2004 I retired from the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections with 20 years of service as a Corrections Master Sergeant.  Formely for the 10 years prior I was a secondary school teacher for the Dade County Public School System.

I am a 1974 graduate of Southern University with a B.S. Degree in Education.  Born in Ethel, LA and reared in Baton Rouge, LA,  a 1970 graduate of Scotlandville Senior High School in Baton Rouge, LA.

I am presently living on a small pension income and have several health problems (diabetes, high blood pressure, glucoma) and have not been able to secure a job.  The reason I retired was due too the long hours(12) and stress of Corrections.

To Whom It May Concern,

Getting enjoyment out of one's work seems to be a rare encounter these days.  I guess you could say that I'm one of the lucky ones.  The field that I am in, brings a smile to my face every day.  The only problem I have is that unfortuniately I do not have the credit or resourses to finance the company I would like to build.

                                 Thank you for your time,

                                         Andy Stephens

I grew up in a small town in Arkansas where I graduated high school with a full paid tuition scholarship to a local university where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree.  My parents went through a divorce when my sister and I were 12 (I have a twin!), so my mother supported us financially until our high school graduation when I had to move on my own.  I am glad that I have lived on my own and supported myself because it gave me a sense of responsibility and pride.  It has also molded me into a hard-working, driven individual who sets goals and does everything possible to meet those goals.  I want to continue my education to help others.  I have a vested interest in this field (Clinical Nutrition) because of numerous family members with Diabetes and other diseases that nutrition can aid.  Through my current job position, I see the power of nutrition and exercise and the impact that it can have on health status of many individuals across the United States.  I am truly interested in this and look forward to the day that I can say that I helped save someone's life or changed their health status in a positive manner.

Lil' Mary

Lil' Mary

The youngest of 9 children. I have always been the responsible one, the one everyone turns to for answers and assistance. However, this is not recipricated.

I have always been there to support my family, but I don't get much support from them.

I always say that my life should be a soap opera, as if anyone has bad luck it is me.

I love to visit with my great nieces and nephews and watch them grow. I is a rule in my family that you can not be taller than Aunt Mary until you are 10!
